SEO Tips

Don’t forget about amplifiers when creating content

Here’s a great content tip and reminder from Rand Fishkin (hat tip to Elizabeth Linder). Don’t forget about your potential amplifiers when creating content.

When creating content with your target audience in mind, don’t forget to also think about those other parties such as podcasters, social media influences, journalists, etc., that can share and expose your content to larger audiences. Many sites fall into this trap of publishing content and playing the waiting game, so it’s best you avoid this mistake and think about the next step!

Types of links Google considers artificial

Great reminder that directory links and bookmarking links are against Google’s guidelines and will be seen as unnatural. At MHC we often disavow these types of links, so if you’re thinking about unnaturally building links, think again. Try to earn natural and quality mentions as that is the type of link Google will reward.

Local SEO - Tips

GMB elements that impact ranking

If you are looking to use your Google My Business profile to its full potential, there are a few things you could do. If you want to improve your ranking, focus on building strong reviews and your business category. If better conversions is what you are looking to achieve, make sure to answer to reviews (no matter how negative they are!), implement attributes and have detailed products.
